Inversion - a mind fuck

POEM 1

INVERSION

aka

HEART OVER MIND

aka

DESTINY OVER COMFORT

When I levitate into awe-filled spaces of spontaneous abandon

I go to my calendar to pull my feet back to earth

But that trip off grounding sounds awfully similar to destiny

And the comfort of earth smells like stagnation

Destiny : air, as comfort : earth

Don’t allow the calendar to restrict

Which the thinking mind craves

Know the expecting heart moves freely

Because knowledge is blind

Expectation : heart, as thought : mind

Destiny : expectation, as comfort : thought

Heart : destiny, as mind : comfort

POEM 2

When you poem yourself into a mind fuck:

You title a poem about following destiny, Heart Over Mind.

Destiny is the desired destination, because it is necessary to relinquish your comfort craving mind.

Then the metaphor slaps you in the face.

Heart over mind. Feet over head.

Tumbling forward. Head over heals.

Falling in love.

An accidental comparison of destiny, expectation, and falling in love.

I know I will fall in love.

This was foretold.

And I just fore-foretold it back. Meta.

Falling in love puts your feet over your head

And your heart over your mind

And if you put you heart’s expectation over your mind’s thoughts..

the Journey brings you to destiny

And my destiny is love

I must invert
